Hi all....

I just read this in my local paper here and was completely wowed by what these kids are doing.. here's the article link and below that is the link to Alex's Lemonade Stands website. If you're not familiar with it (I wasn't and I live here), check it out.. it will really touch you. I don't know a single one of us that hasn't been affected by someone with cancer.. I only pray that I never have to go thru it with my kids...

Just thought I would pass it on! Maybe we can all make a difference in a child's life.. I know I'll be hunting down a lemonade stand tomorrow!

Computer Use a Boost to Young Minds

Wow - an actual study, however un-scientific, that shows computer usage in kids actually helps with their development. And showing that video games really don't. Not sure I don't believe that video games don't help with motor skills and hand-eye coordination however.

And in other video game news, here are some parents who can't be accused of empty threats. The one think I know I am going to be really really bad at is following through on threats like these.

rewdy and i got our early anniversary/late tax refund present for ourselves. a new king size sleep number bed. i must say - it is AWESOME! motivations was many. our marriage bed was getting awefully old and uncomfortable (although mike took it off our hands and thinks it is great). we were both waking up with back pains every morning and not sleeping well. also, having our daughter hang out in bed with us on sunday mornings was cramped even in our queen. so now there is plenty of room in anticipation of her toddler days once she has her big-girl bed and can come crawling into ours in the middle of the night. anyway - we highly recommend the sleep number bed. it's like sleeping on a cloud. we're both sleeping unbelievably better, not waking up all night trying to get comfortable, and awe're rising in the morning refreshed, well-rested, and without any back pain. you gotta get yourself one the next time you're in the market for a new mattress.

Fisher Price is having a sweepstakes for a $200 shopping spree if you sign up for their newsletter by July 9th. I actually already subscribe and have found some of the play tips to be pretty interesting. For sure it helped me remember some of the words to nursery rhymes and songs.
